I sat in a room with a leadership team debating whether to approve an AI tool that could replace three full-time employees. The software could schedule meetings, generate reports, even draft emails. It would save the company $200K a year. They concluded, “Why wouldn’t we use it?”
Across the table, the HR Manager — visibly tense — said, “Because that $200K has names. One of them has three kids. Another just bought a house. The third is the glue in our culture.”
Silence.
Whether you are excited or terrified, AI is here. It’s automating roles that were once thought safe: Analysts, customer service reps, marketing, retail, even middle managers, and jobs with routine and repetitive cognitive tasks are at risk.
These facts can create a lot of fear within your company. And we all know innovation doesn’t flourish in a culture of fear. Culture dies when people feel disposable. Besides, clients don’t build loyalty to chatbots.
So what can we do?
As I reflect on this situation, I think about how AI doesn’t have to replace people. It can reveal their potential — if leaders are willing to rethink their strategy. Companies can proactively reassure — and retrain — their current employees.
We don’t have to be in a battle of humans vs. machines.
With our evolving technology, we have an opportunity to evolve our mindsets.
The companies that thrive in this AI age won’t be the ones that automate the fastest — they’ll be the ones that build cultures of adaptability, safety, and purpose.
Why? Because humans aren’t just lines on a payroll — they’re the carriers of your brand’s values, your client relationships, your innovation spark, and your legacy.
To create that reassurance within your team, it’s important to be honest with them. AI is here to stay.
Stress with them that the goal is augmentation, not automation. Explore how AI can support the team, rather than replace it. Teach employees how to use AI appropriately and ethically. Redefine current roles toward empathy based work, conflict resolution, client relations, and mentorship. Offer skill development in complex decision making, strategy, negotiation, and ethical oversight.
Most importantly, create psychological safety.
AI may generate results. But only people generate relationships. The goal is to make people feel seen, supported, and irreplaceable because of their human contributions — not just their ability to check boxes.
Let AI do the heavy lifting. But let people lead the way.

Magic happens when women come together and collaborate. She Talks San Diego Mini Do The Thing
Ladies,
we had a great meeting with our women in the UK/France filling us in on what they see as a needs for us to expand into UK and how we can support them. If you are in the UK and missed the meeting catch up here.
Ladies,
As many of you know, our AI matching system launched just two weeks ago, and we’re thrilled to see you gradually activating your profiles. We understand this process will take some time, and we anticipate it may be a couple of months before everyone is fully set up.
A few important reminders:
Not all women in our community are on the app yet, and not all are currently in the AI matching system. And some women choose to not be on either and just attend event local events. So please note both these systems are these are not representative our all of our members. Although we encourage all women to download locals app and as well our AI matching program. As we transition to a more refined and personalized experience—moving away from a broad directory to meaningful, strategic connections—we appreciate your patience and support.
As with any new technology, there may be occasional glitches. However, if you've attended our virtual or in-person events, you know how committed we are to ...
One of my customers lost a top performer. He quietly resigned.
No conflict. No demands. Just this:
"I can’t keep pretending I’m okay anymore."
To her credit, the CEO of the company didn’t react. She responded with intention. She paused. She listened. She re-evaluated what needed to be done.
She reached out. We got to work.
What followed wasn’t a quick fix—it was a redesign. Mental health days were added. Work hours flexed around individual energy rather than clocks. Managers were trained in emotional intelligence. Mindfulness and wellness offerings were added. Conversations moved from metrics to meaning.
There has been a gradual culture shift. People are starting to want to be at work. Creativity seems to have bounced back. And the company just had its strongest quarter yet—not by squeezing more out of people, but by pouring more into them.
When I reflect on this situation, it seems all too familiar. I’ve seen brilliant teams crumble—not from incompetence or poor strategy—but ...
